Assistant Professor of Community Development
Arizona State University

The School of Community Resources & Development at Arizona State University is seeking a full-time, tenure track assistant professor in community development.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an internationally-recognized research program, deliver excellent in-class and online instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise graduate student research (MS and PhD), and participate in service activities in the school, college, university, and profession.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Earned doctorate in community development, nonprofit studies, planning, urban studies, or a closely related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment
• Evidence of a strong or promising program of research in community development
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Teaching and research focused on community development, specializing in social entrepreneurship and/or international development
• An emerging or established record of scholarly work
• Demonstrated ability to teach effectively online and in the classroom
• Evidence of work on externally-funded research projects
• Ability to work with diverse populations

The application deadline is Monday, December 2, 2013 by 11:59 pm Mountain Standard time; if not filled, every two weeks thereafter until search is closed. The appointment will begin August 16, 2014.
